About Gaelic football:
Gaelic football resembles a combination of basketball and soccer, and is similar in appearance to Australian Rules football with the exception that the ball is the shape of a soccer ball but is slightly smaller and harder. It is played on a rectangular field (larger than a soccer field) by two teams of fifteen. Points are scored by kicking the ball into a goal, for 3 points, or through uprights, for 1 point. The ball can be passed by kicking it or by hitting it out of one hand (hand pass). While there is no tackling involved in the game, there is more contact than soccer and players are free to shoulder opponents and to knock the ball out of their hands. A fast-paced game, there is no stoppage time and no offside rules.
